In January 2020, we were thrilled to open a new primary school in a small community outside of Meru, where previously there had been no nearby school for the children in the area. Our team arrived as the first pre-school classrooms opened, and we were able to do finishing touches while at the same time meeting the teachers and working and playing with the kids. It was a joyful and celebratory time for all involved. Future plans include the construction of additional classrooms to eventually have a complete pre-K through 8th grade primary school.

Although COVID-19 caused schools to be closed in Kenya, our work has continued throughout the year, providing help for many impacted by the pandemic, and assisting our scholarship students to continue their studies whenever and wherever possible. Future team trips are currently on hold, but we hold out hope that a trip can be planned in 2021.
