2017 began with a return trip to Meru and Samburu in January, to follow up on current clean water projects in both regions and conduct assessments at a number of schools for future systems. Other highlights of the trip included reconnecting with our Kenyan partners, the opportunity to participate in a joyful high school graduation ceremony in Samburu, and initiating plans for a new nutrition program for schools in Meru.

PEAK is pleased to be continuing our partnership with Rotary, and expanding the clean water projects to other communities near Meru and beyond. We also welcomed Isaac Soita of Running Water International back to the U.S. in the fall of 2017, to attend another Rotary Symposium on Holistic WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), with visits to Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska, and Washington, D.C.

Plans are also in the works for return trips to Kenya in 2018, including a January team trip, and other follow-up trips in the summer, to continue with our ongoing projects.
